The main task when it comes to desalination of both brackish water and seawater is a reduction in the salt content. A salt content of more than 1,500 mg/L is considered unpalatable to humans. The typical salt content of brackish water is 2,000-10,000 mg/L and in seawater is above 35,000 mg/L. World Health Organization guidelines recommend a maximum of 500 mg/L for potable water. The reduction in salt levels can be achieved using Reverse Osmosis technology. Reverse Osmosis technology has become an extremely cost-competitive method of desalinating water, as a result of the falling membrane costs and economies of scale.
At Pak Oasis, we are helping to reduce the expense of the desalination process further, by lowering energy consumption through the integration of alternative energies and advanced energy recovery systems. By using technologies such as solar pumps, by modifying plants to become energy efficient, and by effecting maintenance processes that ensure that membranes are well protected, we are able to keep capital costs low and operating costs firmly under control.
Pak Oasis offers a full array of Reverse Osmosis systems, tailored to solve the exact nature of our client’s problems, such as:
- Seawater RO
- High Brackish Water RO
- Brackish Water RO
- Double Pass RO
- Containerized RO
- Water softening
